Information Page

Hello,

After speaking with some people who have been incarcerated for various crimes I feel that this page is much needed. As time goes by, I will be adding important information as I get it from inmates who are working on or have worked on their cases.

While you are sitting in jail waiting for your trial, work on your case using the law library. Look up case laws and previous cases similar to your case.

Things to keep for your cases:

  • Text messages
  • Videos
  • Get as many witnesses that are willing to testify on your behalf
  • Snapshot things like Instagram “likes” before someone deletes them for DV cases
  • Snashot cell phone records
  • Take pictures and have others take pictures of a person who may be stalking you
  • Remember if you’re incarcerated everything is scanned. Your mail and emails. It is a record already there as evidence for you. Phone calls are recorded don’t be afraid to ask for a record of them.
  • Pictures of you and the other person with the date and time stamped.
  • Read your police reports and write notes that are not correct.
  • Resstraining orders can not go back 6 months, 8 months, 10 months after the first one has been served to you. If they try and they recant the first one saying it is not accurate go through it and make all of notes.
