Inmates In Pain

Help for an inmates:

There are inmates that are not getting medical attention that they need. Some inmates have had hernia mesh surgery that are sitting in there cells in pain.  Medical at the prisons will not see them for the pain. Some of these inmates had this surgery years ago, and they are still being denied medical services.  This is very cruel and inhuman!!!

Medical Concerns:

Many complications have been discovered since the first hernia mesh surgery. And many have surgeries have failed. Failed surgeries have led to mesh pain, bowel obstruction, nausea, vomiting, inability to pass gas or stools. Mesh migration or shrinkage: can lead to adhesions, or abscesses (a pocket of puss), mesh rejection, severe swelling at the surgical site and hernia recurrence. If there is an obstruction, there can be bile (stool) going into the blood stream causing death.

On the Streets:

If the inmate were out on the streets, they would have medical care as soon as possible and would not be living in pain. Most likely they would have another surgery to repair the issue. They would not be living with the possibility of dying from bile backing up into their bloodstream.

Lawsuits:

Currently, there are tens of thousands of lawsuits against hernia mesh manufacturers by patients who suffered complications and injuries because of mesh failure. If you have an inmate that has hernia mesh failure and is not corrected it could be a lawsuit against, the prison, DOC, and manufacturer.
